Jedno pivo, prosim!

2008. The year when someone had the idea to recreate the German Oktoberfest and made beer so much more than just a drink to go along with a great lunch. Or with a second beer. Or third. Anyway, the seventh Beer festival is here and better than ever!

Save the date!
The festival starts this Thursday (15.5.) and will last for 17 days (till 31.5.). This year the event takes place at Leteňská pláň, Praha 7 (check out the map: http://www.ceskypivnifestival.cz/#p-czech-prague2014-w4).
It is easily accessible by tram number 1, 8, 12 17 – Čechův most, or by tram number 25 or 26 – Letenské náměstí.
You don’t have to worry if there’s a place to sit – the capacity is 4 000 seats and even if you happen to desperately look for an empty spot, I’m sure you can always sit on the grass or wherever else you please.
It will be open everyday from 12 pm – 12 am and on weekends from 11 am – 12 am.
The entry is only symbolic – 45 Kč/person, also if you own ISIC/ITIC/IYTC/ALIVE card, you can get in for free.
Another option is to buy VIP pass for 2000 Kč and enjoy VIP zone, cold meal with a welcome drink when you come, a smal gift and entry for 5 chosen days of the festival.

Beer/Bier/Cerveza/Pivo
So what’s in store for this year? More than 70 brands of all kinds of beer for you to taste!
From the popular ones such as Krušovice, Staropramen, Zlatopramen or Svijany to brands you don’t normally see in bars and pubs. Some of them, however, won’t be avaliable the whole festival - only for several days.

Nobody likes to drink on an empty stomach so apart from beer you will have the opportunity to enjoy a great food as well! This year, for the first time, the menu is divided to three groups – Europe, Asia and America. Some of the representing restaurants are Las Adelitas, Umami or Fish & Chips.

And that’s still not all! Before you even get to eating and drinking more than you should (yeah, like anyone stops when they feel full) you can stop by for a coffee and a desert in the festival’s coffee shop or try different types of tea, drinks or a home-made lemonade.

Rock’n’Beer fest
The Beer festival has it’s music parallel Rock’n’Beer fest. The second one happening this year will host 45 bands of different genres and styles. This way you can enjoy live music everyday you visit the event and maybe become a new fan of some of the groups playing there (which, honestly, can come very easily when drinking).

So don’t hesitate and come grab a cold one for yourself!
